U OK? Podcast, a New York based podcast hosted by Rasheda Crockett, Ilana Michelle Rubin, and Lana Schwartz, will record a live variety show at Lyric Hyperion in Sliverlake on Friday, July 14 at 10 p.m. PST. The podcast was borne out of a frustration with our current political climate and gives people – typically comedians – an opportunity to air their grievances, providing a cathartic experience for the audience, guests, and the hosts.
This show is perfect for anyone who has found themselves stricken with despair since the election, and wants a chance to laugh about the lengths we’ve gone to keep ourselves sane. The evening will feature performances from Ryan Maull (Red Pill Players), Austin Hall (Snoop Dogg’s Smokeout, The Amber Rose Show, To Tell The Truth), Chelsea Davison (@midnight, MADtv), Subhah Agarwal (The Jim Jeffries Show, MTV, TruTV), Amanda Seales (Insecure, Get Your Life, Greatest Ever), and Gil Ozeri (Happy Endings, Brooklyn 99, Children’s Hospital), and more, all performing comedy inspired by what has sustained them after our world we know it was turned upside down.
Between them, the three hosts of U OK? Podcast have accumulated a number of credits, including appearances on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Wild n’ Out, VH1, and deada$$, and bylines on The New Yorker, The Hairpin, Splitsider, Reductress, and more.
Tickets are $7 online, $10 at the door.
